The role of our Education Team is to maintain an active correspondence with a patient’s home school during their hospitalization. School aged persons are provided 300 minutes of educational services per week. These services are provided by state certified teachers. The Education program has a standards based curriculum for levels Pre-K through 12th grade with requisite adaptations, modifications and accommodations for students with disabilities. With the guardian’s consent, information regarding staffing, academic progress and discharge plans will be shared with the home school. Upon discharge, the home school will be notified and provided information such as the school summary and attendance report, as well as a Doctor signature indicating the student may return to school.
